East Fremantle Cottage — Residential
Located in a heritage area, this federation style cottage was reinterpreted and personalised for its new owners – a professional couple with a passion for history. The owners sought a higher level of amenity from the home’s existing spaces, within a calm and cohesive design language.
Existing heritage features were combined seamlessly with contemporary elements which, while different, share the same sensibilities. Cabinetry and finishes were designed with selective texture and embellishment within an overarching palette that is simple and contemporary.
Natural stone and brass were used throughout to create a softness and depth that will develop in time to become another overlay within the home’s history.
